Welcome to the Artful Alpaca

Welcome to the Artful Alpaca, dedicated to showcasing the work of artists that depict the alpaca in their various media, whether fine or wearable art. Convinced that the alpaca is not only the source of beautiful, fine fiber but is itself an animal of great physical beauty, I sought out artists who were inspired by the alpaca in their work. For so many who visit our farm, having alpacas in their daily lives is not practical, yet this affords them the opportunity to take home a memento of their visit.

We feature the work of Judy Evans Steele, Kathy Harlan and Sara McElroy currently. Hand-spun yarns, either purely alpaca or blended with silk, kid mohair or merino are also featured in our store. We also stock mill-spun yarn and spinning supplies. All finished product featured in The Artful Alpaca otherwise is exclusively baby alpaca, meaning it comes from the finest (under 21 micron) alpacas. We want everyone to experience alpaca at its finest! We also have a selection of alpaca books for children of all ages as well as plush alpaca stuffed animals. We intend to add artists as we get to know them and their work. We encourage artists interested in consigning works to our gallery space at the farm to contact us directly.
